Chiropractic Patients
On your first visit, you will be promptly greeted by one of our front desk staff when you walk in. They will give you a packet of new patient paperwork for you to fill out, which takes approximately 20-30 minutes. If you would like to have this paperwork already filled out, you can find it under the new patient tab.
After completing the paperwork, you will either be taken to a room, or one of the doctors will greet you and bring you back. Once you are in an exam room, the doctor will ask a few questions to get a better idea of how we can help you. After these questions, the doctor will perform various orthopedic and neurologic tests to narrow down the problem and figure out how best to address it. Once these tests are completed, the doctor will evaluate your spine for any shifts or slight misalignments, which can cause irritation to the nerves and muscles in the neck, back, head, or extremities. If the doctor finds any of these shifts in the spine, they will make a correction called an adjustment. Here at Core Family Chiropractic, we utilize a technique which is gentle to both you, the patient, and the doctor. During the time when the doctor is adjusting you, they will always make sure you are comfortable and explain everything as they do it. Once you have been adjusted, you may feel some immediate relief of pain or muscle tension. This feeling of relief will vary depending on how long the condition has lasted and how severe the problem is. The doctor will also likely recommend something you can do at home to help the healing process. It is common for you to feel some soreness in the couple of days following your first adjustment. This is due to the muscles relearning their new and corrected position. Follow-up visits are typically necessary to receive the most benefit from chiropractic care. The doctor will discuss this with you and recommend a treatment plan that fits your needs. |
